Belt earns oodles of spontaneous laughter with her persona’s forthright delivery…gut-wrenching when she nearly steals the show at the piano with a heart-searing version of “The Hill.”

-Imaan Jalali, LA Excites

It’s not easy playing a winsome life force with a foreign accent. But Ms. Belt has mastered the assignment brilliantly. She brings a new confidence to her portrayal, and an enhanced mixture of wit and wisdom, which suggests a maturity in youth…

Hello there!

I’m Grace. I am a performer who specializes in Shakespeare, Music, Clown, and Devised Theatre. I find that live music complements theatrical storytelling by weaving the actors and audience into a living, breathing, real-time experience. It’s rad when we discover a harmony between people. There’s something flickering within that experience that points to the Meaning of Life.

I believe in the importance of deeply deliberate training to pursue those flickers intentionally. In addition to being a classically trained musician, I am an alum of Great River Shakespeare Festival’s Apprentice Program (2018) and Fiasco Theatre’s 6WC inaugural class (2019). But…I also believe that in the opportune moment, a person ought to throw all that rigid institution out the window. SMACK!

The gods are real, stories are true, and comedy is the last best tool we have to prevent meaningful tension from dissolving into static conflict. My work attempts to consciously engage with these complex forces that pulse beneath the march of history.

Since completing my BA in Theatre Arts from the University of Tennessee, I have worked regionally in the American Southeast, Midwest, NJ, and NYC, focusing primarily on Shakespeare and new musical development.

Ask me about my new peices in development: Into Dogs and Here Below.

With mirth and laughter let old wrinkles come…”
